Northern Colorado, the place we call home, is a region in the northeastern portion of Colorado. It is located along the I-25 corridor and the Colorado Front Range. Northern Colorado reaches the western and southwest portions of Nebraska as well as southern portions of Wyoming. The region is made up primarily of two counties, Larimer to the west and Weld to the east and the south. Major Cities include Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley giving to the area sometimes being referred to as the Tri-City region, although there are in-fact over 60 communities in the two counties, with a regional population totaling over 500,000 people.

With over 300 days of sunshine per year and a semi-arid climate in Northern Colorado, it is easy to see why national magazines and websites give Northern Colorado high marks on the quality of life and living. With spanning vistas from the Pawnee National Grasslands to the east and the majestic Rocky Mountains to the west it quickly becomes apparent what the draw to the area is.

That draw is enhanced by the numerous opportunities to learn, work and play in Northern Colorado, with two major universities, many high-tech employers, a steadily growing economy and countless recreational opportunities in the region and nearby. Northern Colorado boasts a highly educated workforce, ranking fifth highest in the US for population with a bachelor’s degree or higher. Fueled by the high-tech and energy sectors, Northern Colorado also has the state’s second largest labor pool, just behind the Denver metropolitan region. Skiing, hiking, camping, biking, team and watersports are favorite pastimes of residents of Northern Colorado.

In addition to physical recreation opportunities, Northern Colorado enjoys a rich cultural environment. Numerous arts and entertainment venues abound, and some of the countries finest microbreweries call the region home. From Symphonies, Choral and Theatrical performances, to local and national musicians, as well as numerous modern and fine art galleries make the arts very accessible to the population. Northern Colorado is home to over 40 of Colorados 200 plus award winning craft breweries.

A favorite getaway in Northern Colorado, is Estes Park and the surrounding mountain vistas, where summer concerts and camping give way to winter festivals and alpine sightseeing. At 7,530 feet above sea level, Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and the home to the Stanley Hotel, made famous in Stephen King’s novel, The Shining. Trail Ridge Road, the seasonal highway through Rocky Mountain National Park can see an average of 300 inches of snowfall each year and is home to many species of wildlife including elk, moose and bears.

Back down on the plains, with an elevation closer to ~4,500 feet above sea level, the climate is relatively mild with warm summers and temperate winters. Northern Colorado is ideally located, with major air, motor and rail transportation easily accessible. Denver’s International Airport (DEN) is just an hour away from the three major cities.
